লাউ ট্যাংরা |  লাউ দিয়ে ট্যাংরা মাছ | Bottle Gourd with Cat fish in Bengali style

Sharing a delicious recipe with bottle gourd with Tangra machh (Cat Fish). It is a traditional Bengali recipe.

 

Ingredients (Serves 2-3)

Tangra Fish – 250 gms

Lauki (Bottle Gourd) - 500 gms

Garlic chopped – 2 Tsp

Dry Red Chilli – 2 Nos.

Nigella Seeds – ¼ Tsp

Turmeric Powder – ½ Tsp

Cumin Powder – 1 Tsp

Red Chilli Powder – 1 Tsp

Green Chilli – 3 Nos.

Sugar – ½ Tsp (Optional)

Coriander leaves – 1 Tbsp

Mustard Oil – 3 to 4 Tbsp

Salt to taste

 

 Method

1.    Clean and wash the Tangra Fish. Marinate with salt and turmeric powder and 1 Tsp of oil. Keep aside

2.     Cut the Lauki into thin strips. Blanch in 1 cup of hot water for 3-4 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.

3.       Heat oil and fry the fishes in batches and keep aside.

4.       In the same oil add dry red chilli and nigella seeds. Saute for 1 minute.

5.      Add chopped garlic and fry till golden in colour.

6.      Add the blanched lauki. Saute for 2-3 minutes.

7.      Add salt , Turmeric Powder and mix.

8.      Add cumin powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.

9.       Add 1 cup of water and cover and cook for 2-3 minutes or till the lauki is done.

10.   Add the fried fish, coat with the gravy. Cook for 2 minutes.

11.   Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
